I spoke at “Meet The Filmmakers” panel at the Lone Star Film Festival on November 10, 2017, one day before my new documentary American Circumcision screened and won Best Documentary at the festival.

In the panel, we talk about finding your audience, crowdfunding, advice for new filmmakers, and several other topics.

Note: The content is great, but the moderator’s audio is a bit hard to hear at times. I wore a lav mic, so you can hear my answers, but his questions were off mic, and might be a bit hard to hear. I’ve tried to clean the audio up as much as possible. There were also four other panelists, but I’ve edited this audio to just be my answers.

My documentary American Circumcision won best documentary at the Lone Star Film Festival.

There was an AMAZING response. We had a full house for the screening. People laughed at the right parts, cried deeply at others, and some stood to applaud at the end. People from the festival later told me we got extremely high marks from both the audience and festival judges. An overwhelming positive response.

We met a lot of good people, and had a great experience. I did my best to document the event – by recording the panel I was on, the Q&A after the screening, and as many audience reactions as I could. I’ll share more about the experience in the days to come, but right now I still need to travel home and gather my energy for a screening only one week later in Seattle, Washington at the Social Justice Film Festival on International Mens Day.
